The first full week of Taurus Season has its intense moments as well as a lighter one . . . we finally will have air back in the sky when Venus dances into airy Gemini on Tuesday. The powerhouse punches this week are Mars conjoining Pluto in Capricorn on Thursday plus the final Mercury-Saturn square on Wednesday. There are a couple of calming aspects to offset those too. Then we have a very intense Full Moon in Scorpio on Sunday to absorb.
It seems like forever since we’ve had a full time planet in air which makes Venus in Gemini doubly welcome. She thrives on being playful and witty; both qualities we need to lighten the atmosphere. We can use a touch of air to activate our minds and Gemini excels at stimulating our thinking.
Late Monday night/early Tuesday morning Mars in Capricorn will be sextile Jupiter in Scorpio. This benign, upbeat aspect may help ease us into the place we need to be for the Mars-Pluto conjunction later in the week. Scorpio and Capricorn play well together in part because both signs are focused, tenacious and pragmatic. Jupiter in Scorpio’s intuitive sense of direction is great for gently nudging Mars in Capricorn into position for applying maximum force efficiently.
That Mars-Pluto conjunction at 21° 17′ Capricorn on Thursday is like Mars in Scorpio on steroids. Rather than flinching away from this potent energy, figure out a way to put it to good use. It is perfect for removing the deadwood in our lives in order to make room for something better. Dealing with controlling types may be tricky because they will probably be out for blood and won’t want to take ‘no’ for an answer. Those who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 20° to 22° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) may find themselves taking the offensive big time.
Mercury in Aries is now direct and when it makes its final square to Saturn in Capricorn on Wednesday, it will give us one more chance to correct any errors made in haste the past few weeks. Be prepared to patiently go back over the same information one more time just in case something was missed the first couple of times.
On Sunday the Taurus Sun will be trine Saturn in Capricorn . . . about as grounded as it gets in a positive way. It’s time to reconnect to Gaia and learn to feel her cycles in our bones. One way to do this is spend the day free from all our various cyber devices including clocks. Go outdoors if possible and experience nature first hand. Walk barefoot on the grass and relax into the moment. This is also a great way to ease any stress brought about by the Mars-Pluto conjunction earlier in the week.
Sunday also features the Full Moon in Scorpio. It is a great opportunity to explore our trust issues and come to terms with why we need to learn to trust our own judgment first and foremost. Taking time by ourselves for contemplation can help more than talking it out with others.
The Leo Moon has her work cut out for her alleviating the Monday blahs and injecting some humor into conversations during the day. By evening when she squares jovial Jupiter in Scorpio people may finally be more interested in socializing with friends. Tuesday morning the Leo Moon trine Uranus in Aries brings us a more creative vibe before going void-of-course until late afternoon when the Moon enters Virgo.
Don’t blame the Virgo Moon for feeling smug this week, at least on Wednesday. Tuesday the Moon begins her stay in Virgo by squaring Venus in Gemini, pitting Virgo work ethic against Gemini playfulness. By late evening things will calm down and on Wednesday we’ll all enjoy the benefits of a placid Grand Trine in earth with the Taurus Sun, Virgo Moon and Saturn in Capricorn. The energy is ideal for staying on task and getting plenty of work accomplished. While the atmosphere may tend towards the serious side, that is necessary once in awhile.
Thursday the Virgo Moon will be void-of-course all day, all the more reason to work hard on Wednesday. Since Virgo excels at handling routine matters, we should have no problem slogging our way through our ‘to do’ lists. Once the Moon slips into airy Libra during the evening and promptly makes a trine to Venus in Gemini, the tone lightens and becomes much more social.
A Libra Moon-Saturn in Capricorn square midday Friday ought to keep us focused on business most of the day. Business meetings should go well with the Libra Moon intent on making sure all opinions are heard.
The weekend is a mixed bag with the Libra Moon under siege from Pluto and Mars in Capricorn on Saturday during the day. Like it or not, we really need to focus on serious issues rather than running off to play. After the Libra Moon goes void-of-course following an irritating opposition to Uranus in Aries around midnight, things will quiet done. Sunday is the Full Moon in Scorpio which includes the exact Taurus Sun-Saturn in Capricorn trine . . . serious day all around. It may be better to spend time alone or with a few very close friends this weekend. If we need to prepare for the coming work week, that should be fine too. It’s just not a good time for partying, that’s all.
How comfortable we are this week depends on how much earth and water are in our natal charts. Fire and air folk may struggle and feel like they are walking through deep mud. It is a somber, no nonsense atmosphere with only a touch of light-hearted airiness, thanks to Venus in Gemini. For those who are willing to look deep within and unflinchingly start the healing process, there is plenty of support to be had. Remember to breathe, take frequent rest breaks and practice being kind to everyone . . . including yourself.
