We start the week with a mash up of dreaminess and angst, and end it with a bad case of crankiness as Mercury makes its exit from Aries on Sunday. Earth signs will fare better thanks to the placid Taurus Sun ambling along enjoying support from Jupiter in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn. And then there is unhappy Venus in Gemini.
Venus is not enjoying her stay in Gemini this year and this week she takes more hits. On Monday she is squared by con artist Neptune in Pisces which may result in attempts to drown our sorrows, while on Wednesday an inconjunct to Jupiter in Scorpio may tempt some to indulge in retail therapy . . . please don’t. Friday night Venus is inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn and that probably won’t end well either, especially when dealing with those in authority. Matter of fact, sensible behaviors will go over better than being flirtatious and witty. In fact, Venus may not be happy until she finally slips in Cancer on May 19. At least then she will get plenty of kisses from all the planets in earth and water. *sigh*
Mercury gets seriously revved up just before it leaves Aries. Well before dawn on Monday, Mercury will square Pluto in Capricorn, the perfect setup for no win arguments. This is a good time to practice taking a long step back and staying as neutral as possible because finding a way to resolve our differences will be difficult.
Saturday Mercury will square combative Mars in Capricorn before conjoining wild-eyed Uranus in Aries on Sunday a couple of hours before entering Taurus. It might help to remember to think before speaking but in this instance even that might not work. People are probably going to be blurting out their “Truth” regardless of whether or not that’s wise. Once Mercury enters Taurus, it might take a day or so before things calm down but once they do, apologies might be in order. By the way, this will be the last Mercury-Uranus conjunction in Aries for a long, long, long time.
On the plus side this week, the Taurus Sun is in good form. Tuesday genial Jupiter in Scorpio opposes the Taurus Sun and since Sun-Jupiter aspects are wonderful for generating lots of warm fuzzies, our relationships should benefit. More favorable for business ventures in general is the trine between the Taurus Sun and powerful Pluto in Capricorn on Friday. This is a good time to take a look at our budget and finances to see what changes would be good.
From a lunar perspective, this week has a nice flow to it until Friday when the Moon enters feisty Aries for a couple of days. Monday and Tuesday appear most favorable for tending to business and the most relaxing part of the weekend will be from midday on Sunday.
We benefit from having a touch more air on Monday and Tuesday with the Moon in mental Aquarius. For most of the day Monday, the Aquarius Moon sails along making no aspects until she gives Venus in Gemini some love late afternoon/early evening. Take advantage of the relatively well balanced sky to discuss priorities for the coming week both at work and at home. Tuesday features the Aquarius Moon sextile Mercury and Uranus in Aries, great for coming up with innovative solutions. It is always easier to review what’s happening in our lives when we can be more objective in our thinking, something the Aquarius Moon can help with.
Late Tuesday evening the Moon dives into watery Pisces until early Friday morning. Wednesday ought to flow nicely, since the only aspect the Pisces Moon makes is a constructive sextile to Saturn in Capricorn. The edge the Pisces Moon gives us is making it easier to tap into our intuition for guidance. Thursday finds even more support for the Pisces Moon from Jupiter in Scorpio, the Taurus Sun and Pluto in Capricorn. Other than a distracting midday square to Venus in Gemini, the atmosphere is very conducive to interacting with our friends and colleagues in a positive way. However it is usually better to work in smaller groups in a quiet setting whenever the Moon is in sensitive Pisces.
The volume cranks up early Friday morning when the Moon leaps into fiery Aries. She powers through the day with no interfering aspects until a late evening square to Saturn in Capricorn. That might cast a pall over the evening’s plans. Finishing up the work week with a burst of energy is always a good thing . . . though we’ll need to remember not to trample over others as we rush through the day.
With the Aries Moon battling it out with Pluto in Capricorn on Saturday as well as the Mercury in Aries square to Mars in Capricorn to contend with, we might want to go it alone. Playing well with others won’t be easy with all the contentiousness flying around. The first half of the day Sunday is not much better with the Aries Moon conjoining Uranus for the last time while squaring Mars in Capricorn. Wait until midday when the Moon ambles into calm Taurus where she promptly conjoins Mercury before meeting up with others for some fun. Sunday evening is far more favorable for enjoying a relaxing visit with friends and family in order to celebrate Mother’s Day.
We’re in the process of experiencing the ending of a cycle, and it becomes more evident as this week progresses. Between May 13 and May 15, three planets will change signs: Mercury, Mars and Uranus. Mercury and Uranus will shift from Aries to Taurus, while Mars goes from Capricorn to Aquarius. Plus we’re moving into the dark of the Moon. The emphasis changes from Cardinal to Fixed which means we leave the initiating phase and begin the building phase. It’s time to make it real! Interesting times, indeed.
