New Moon in Gemini, June 13, 2018

The typically bright, shiny Gemini energy is going to be subdued on this New Moon at 22° 45′ Gemini, 13 June 2018, 12:44 PM PDT. The major contributing factor is Saturn in Capricorn sitting inconjunct the luminaries, casting doubt on the workability of Gemini’s ideas. Adding a note of confusion is a wide square to the luminaries from Neptune in Pisces though this is a waning influence which is offset by Saturn to a large degree.

Here’s the deal . . . Mercury, Gemini’s ruler, is in sensitive, intuitive Cancer. Emotional Intelligence is what we need to process incoming data now, rather than going with an intellectual approach. With Mercury in Cancer tightly sextile Uranus in Taurus, processing information holistically will be extremely effective. We can be looking at a bunch of seemingly unrelated facts and have the connecting factor leap out at us in a flash. This is a wonderful time to make important breakthroughs regarding all sorts of nagging problems we’ve been struggling with. Do make sure there is a strong practical component because Mercury also has Saturn in Capricorn opposing it and Saturn always demands accountability.

Venus is at 29° Cancer, preparing to leap into fiery Leo a few hours after the New Moon. This places her square to Uranus in Taurus by the numbers even though Taurus and Cancer are quite compatible by sign. This softens the effects of the square during the New Moon but once Venus shifts into Leo the square to Uranus in Taurus (exact June 14) will kick in big time. Venus-Uranus squares tend to bring out self-centered behaviors in our relationships, and those can harm even the best relationships.

Saturn in Capricorn is also stepping on Mars in Aquarius’s toes via a semi-sextile. This may result in feeling frustrated by a lack of progress that some may blame on an unwillingness to explore cutting-edge options. Be prepared to do more homework before moving forward with new ventures. While this may be time consuming, it will be worth the extra effort in the long run.

The graceful, soothing trine between Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces is still showering blessings on us. Those lucky souls who have personal planets from 13° to 17° in Cancer get an extra measure of sweetness in their lives. This influence subtly encourages everyone to listen to their better angels, always a good thing.

What the Gemini New Moon does well is be open to all sorts of possibilities, including a willingness to at least try different ways of gathering information. Water and earth are still the dominant elements which suggest going with non-verbal cues and tuning into our intuitive side. Stay true to the spirit of Gemini and be flexible, curious and open-minded . . . who knows what fascinating things we may learn that will enrich our lives.
