So much earth! We rarely have all the planets in two signs but on this New Moon at 17° 00′ Virgo on 9 September 2018, 11:02 AM PDT that is the case. There are seven planets in earth and three in water with nothing in fire or air. It is the perfect time to plan projects that require great attention to detail and are on the practical side, though it would be best to set those into motion gradually.
The Virgo Sun and Moon are part of a Basket Pattern with Jupiter in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn, creating a marvelous intertwining of earth and water energies. On the whole this is a subtle, low key energy that focuses on working in the here and now. If we need to do some serious financial planning for the future, this is a great time to start. Between Jupiter in Scorpio’s financial savvy, Pluto in Capricorn’s pragmatism, the Virgo Sun’s ability to patiently sort through stacks of paperwork and the Pisces Moon’s gentle, intuitive guidance, we can develop a plan for improved financial security for the days ahead.
Adding more earth and water goodness to this lunation is a Kite Pattern anchored by a Grand Trine in earth (Mercury in Virgo, Saturn in Capricorn and Uranus in Taurus) with Venus in Scorpio creating the Kite. What really makes this pattern interesting is having Uranus in Taurus as the focal point for the Kite Pattern. We may finally find a fresh, new way of looking at what’s going on in our lives in order to make common sense adjustments.
Of course, with all the earth energy in this chart, it is good, old fashioned hard work that will get us where we want to go. So it is fortunate we have Mars in Capricorn forming a square by the numbers to Uranus in Taurus and Venus in Scorpio. The energy will increase and become more confrontational when Mars moves into Aquarius late Monday following the Virgo New Moon. The square to Venus fades quickly but the square to Uranus in Taurus is still building and will be exact on September 18 for the third and final time. Events set in motion way back in May when Mars in Aquarius squared Uranus for the first time may finally be resolved, one way or another. As always with Uranus involved, be careful about making rash, spur of the moment decisions as they could cost us dearly.
This Virgo New Moon presents a unique opportunity to make practical changes in our lives. Small adjustments and simple plans will prove more effective than grandiose schemes and high-flying ideas. Those who take the time to make sure all their facts are verified and based in reality have a much better chance of success than who don’t. There are bound to be plenty of very competent fact checkers on hand to make sure everything is correct . . . it is a VIRGO New Moon after all. This is the perfect time to make a fresh start. Go for it!
