This Full Moon at 0° 49′ Cancer on 22 December 2018, 09:49 AM PST, brings opportunities to see where we need to clear the decks and make a fresh start. The energy to make this happen is there too with a cardinal emphasis and the luminaries aspecting Uranus in Aries.
The situation with Uranus in Aries aspecting the Capricorn Sun and Cancer Moon is an interesting one. While Aries squares Capricorn and Cancer by sign, if we go by the numbers the Moon is sextile Uranus and the Sun is trine. The bottom line is this generates the need to take action. Uranus in Aries provides the fuel, the Capricorn Sun gives the ability to plan carefully and the Cancer Moon gives us the reasons why we need to take the next step. The important thing is move with caution rather than leaping into something, as tempting as that might be.
Saturn in Capricorn will be doing his best to help cooler heads prevail via a tight semi-sextile to the volatile Mercury-Jupiter conjunction in fiery Sagittarius. Not helping matters is a square between Mercury-Jupiter and Neptune in Pisces. That one can lead to irrational exuberance in a heartbeat.
F.Y.I. While Jupiter in Sagittarius is widely square Neptune in Pisces on this lunation, he will make three exact squares to Neptune next year. These will affect those folks who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 14° to 18° in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces). This can cause one to go from feeling wildly optimistic to deeply pessimistic very quickly, making it very challenging to make good decisions.
On the plus side, there are two wonderful aspects involving Venus in Scorpio and Mars in Pisces. Venus is happily trine Neptune in Pisces and Mars is sextile Pluto in Capricorn. This bodes well for all sorts of relationships from lovers to business associates. The Venus-Neptune trine is sublime, very caring, compassionate and loving. The Mars-Pluto sextile is a subtle but very effective force enabling us to move forward constructively. The energy is very similar to a well aspected Mars in Scorpio. We can bring other people’s needs into consideration more easily than usual, always a plus for happy relationships.
Falling so close to the Solstice gives this Full Moon in Cancer a broader influence than usual. We have an opportunity to review the balance between work and family in order to make adjustments to benefit both. If we want to get the coming year off to a good start, now is the perfect time to prepare. Start with some enthusiastic brain storming, followed by some judicious editing before choosing what will work the best.
Celebrate the Solstice and the Full Moon in Cancer, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Much good will and many blessings to all.
