New Moon in Aquarius, February 4, 2019

Cool, rationality is one of the many blessings this New Moon at 15° 45′ Aquarius on 4 February 2019, 1:04 PM PST bestows on us. We finally have an opportunity to look at the big picture rather than feeling the need to stay focused on very short term goals. Jupiter in Sagittarius bolsters this point of view via a sextile to the luminaries. Sagittarius and Aquarius work well together, combining enthusiasm and an interest in working for humanity as a whole.

The Sun, Moon and Mercury form a stellium in airy Aquarius, a critical component for clear, objective thinking while contemplating new directions. This stellium is part of a trapezoid pattern with Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. The square between Jupiter and Neptune forms the base with a semi-sextile between the luminaries and Saturn the top. Essentially this pattern ties together two important sextiles (Jupiter sextile the Sun, Moon and Mercury; Saturn sextile Neptune) and a square between Jupiter and Neptune. We have an opportunity to plan for the future in a practical yet compassionate way as long as we draw on the Aquarius stellium to weed out any half baked schemes based on false assumptions.

One thing we need to be careful of is pushing ahead too fast. This will take conscious effort to avoid because there is a highly energized aspect between Mars conjoined Uranus in Aries widely square Pluto in Capricorn. All we have to do is think back to the Uranus-Pluto square years to know how well that works. Rebelliousness flourishes under the Mars-Uranus conjunction in Aries. We want what we want RIGHT NOW! While Pluto in Capricorn frantically attempts to maintain control at all costs. This will probably affect those with personal planets and/or Ascendant from 20° to 24° in the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn) the most. Finding a productive outlet is the key. We can move mountains or end up buried under one unless we consciously practice patience, tolerance and kindness!

Venus in Capricorn makes an out-of-sign trine to Uranus in Aries. This is one of those cases when the signs say one thing and the numbers another. Venus in subtle, conventional Capricorn is not that interested in breaking the rules, something Uranus in Aries loves. The trine suggests we can flirt with the idea of doing something slightly risqué in our love lives as long as we don’t take it too far.

All the elements are present on this New Moon in Aquarius (though fire and air have the edge) which always helps us find better solutions because we have the tools to think clearly, be inspired, use common sense and take others feelings into account.

For most folks this promises to be an exciting event, full of hope and optimism though it is a better time to brain storm than actually put things into motion. First we need to take the time to carefully do our homework to make sure those fresh new ideas will work in the real world. Be sure to use common sense! Enjoy!
