Yes, this is a second Full Moon in Libra! The first one was on March 20 (the Equinox) at 0° Libra and now twenty-nine days later we have the second one at 29° 07′ Libra on 19 April 2019, 04:13 AM PDT. Naturally the focus is on endings, especially related to setting aside all types of expectations of a specific outcome. Those will be brought to our attention by Pluto in Capricorn and friends forming a T-Square with the luminaries.
Pluto’s friends are the South Node and Saturn, all within three degrees. We’ll need Saturn’s disciplined nature to help us overcome the need to hold onto outworn ideas and obsessions which both Pluto and the South Node demand we hang on to with both hands. Entitlement is part of the package along with instant gratification. Nonetheless there are many times in this life when we are not going to get our way. One benefit of voluntarily examining and releasing expectations is feeling much lighter because those weigh us down every single day. Going through life with few expectations also means feeling far less resentful and frustrated . . . win, win!
Both Libra’s ruler, Venus, and Aries’s ruler, Mars, are under siege at this time. Venus in Pisces is widely square Jupiter in Sagittarius; an aspect very likely to interfere with our ability to judge how much is enough. We can end up overindulging in so many ways. 🙂
Poor Mars in Gemini is suffering through a waxing square to Neptune in Pisces (exact April 27), always a debilitating experience for Mars. Because both planets are in mutable signs, distractions will abound and we may find ourselves attempting to head off in several different directions at the same time. We may as well start out with a plan A, B, C and D because we’ll likely need them.
On the plus side, Jupiter in Sagittarius makes harmonious aspects to the Aries Sun and Libra Moon, infusing the atmosphere with a sense of optimism. Not only that but Mercury is finally in Aries, giving us more clarity of vision than we’ve had in awhile. An exact semi-sextile to unconventional Uranus in Taurus gives this Mercury an edge for coming up with unusual but workable solutions.
Last but not least, Saturn in Capricorn is still widely sextile Neptune in Pisces which harnesses our imagination to practicality . . . excellent for manifesting our spiritual ideals in the real world and keeping our imaginations from running wild. The next exact sextile will be on June 18 at 18°.
Cardinal signs enjoy a challenge and that’s exactly what this Libra Full Moon offers us . . . a big challenge to clean up our act. It’s time to grit our teeth and take a long, honest look at how we are handling our expectations for ourselves and others in our lives. Learning to be as neutral as possible is an excellent goal and will make life easier in the long run. It’s time to get started!
Astro-geeky note on polarity: Air and fire are positive, or ‘masculine’, while earth and water are negative, or ‘feminine’. We can easily understand fiery, Mars ruled Aries is masculine but tend to forget Venus ruled Libra is the same polarity. Saturn ruled Capricorn may seem more masculine but earth is always feminine in polarity while watery Cancer is obviously feminine. In general it is easy to see the fire signs as masculine and water as feminine but the air and earth signs are less obvious in their polarity.
