New Moon in Gemini, June 3, 2019

After several tightly focused lunations, the scattered, whimsical energy of this New Moon at 12° 34′ Gemini could leave us wondering what side is up. Other than a tight semi-sextile to Mars in Cancer, the Gemini luminaries go it alone, happily conversing with themselves as Gemini frequently does. Gemini’s ruler, Mercury, is unaspected as well as out of bounds, a true loose cannon, making it very challenging to make sense of the data flood.

Having sensitive Mars in Cancer aspecting the Gemini luminaries suggests the need to pay attention to our words because we can inadvertently hurt other people’s feelings, wrecking havoc on important relationships. An out-of-bounds Mercury in Gemini is not much help either since it is prone to blurting out whatever is on our minds, much like Mercury in Sagittarius on a bad day. This is the perfect time to keep the old adage about ‘saying nothing at all, if you can’t say something nice’ in mind.

What can help soothe troubled waters is Venus in Taurus. She is naturally pleasant and with lovely aspects connecting her to Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn along with Neptune in Pisces, enhancing her ability to spread goodwill . For those on the verge of committing to a long term relationship, this is a great opportunity to weigh the pros and cons in a sensible manner. Even the inconjunct Venus makes to Jupiter in Sagittarius is not all that difficult as long as we mind our budgets and practice moderation when it comes to food and drink.

Probably the most challenging aspect is the ongoing square between Jupiter in Sagittarius and Neptune in Pisces because it lures us towards irrational exuberance and making lousy choices because we want to believe in ideas that have no basis in reality. Fortunately, the waxing sextile between cautious Saturn in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces is hard at work doing its best to broadcast common sense solutions. Pretend Mercury is retrograde and always double and triple check the facts before taking the next step.

Uranus in Taurus is sitting this lunation out and unless you have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 3° to 6° in the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), its influence will be limited.

Rather than engaging in serious conversations, keep things light and easy on this New Moon in Gemini. Find harmless, fun ways to learn something new and choose to spend time with close friends and siblings with whom you have common interests. Respect other people’s boundaries and always, always choose to treat others with kindness and compassion.
