Full Moon in Aquarius, August 15, 2019

Contrarians ought to love this Full Moon at 22° 24′ Aquarius on 15 August 2019, 05:30 AM PDT. That’s because Aquarius’s ruler, Uranus, squares Mercury in Leo which creates the perfect setup for a strong desire to follow your own personal drummer.

People will have little taste for compromising under the influence of the fixed Mercury-Uranus square. We may want to work alone as much as possible for the next couple of weeks. Getting embroiled in differences of opinion will be far too easy and can be a huge waste of time and energy due to the difficulty of finding a working resolution. There may be plenty of heated disagreements erupting, both on a personal level and in the collective.

Speaking of heat, the Leo Sun conjoins both Venus and Mars! Passions run high and romance is bound to be filled with high drama and extravagant gestures. Some of us may enjoy sitting back and watching the show rather than participating, while others will dive right in! Remember the Leo show is being balanced by the dispassionate Aquarius Moon who will be happy to offer a variety of opinions from a detached perspective.

The closest aspect to the Aquarius Moon is an exact semi-sextile to Pluto in Capricorn. This is an odd couple to say the least. The Aquarius Moon prefers to take a long step back and observe while Pluto in Capricorn can easily slide into endlessly obsessing over control issues.

We still have an ongoing interaction between Jupiter in Sagittarius, Saturn in Capricorn and Neptune in Pisces. Jupiter is exactly semi-sextile Saturn at this time while making a waxing square to Neptune. Saturn continues to act as the voice of reason but given the intemperate nature of the Jupiter-Neptune square, we will still see plenty of off the wall behaviors, largely based on unrealistic expectations. Those folks in deepest denial probably won’t begin to come back into reality until Jupiter finally reaches pragmatic Capricorn on December 2.

This particular Aquarius Full Moon offers us opportunities to explore who we are as individuals while still connecting to our hearts. Relationships are always a balance between meeting our personal needs and doing what is best for our partners. At this time the emphasis is more on learning how to incorporate enough autonomy in the relationship to keep us happy as individuals while still maintaining a good relationship with our significant others. This is not typically an easy task but if we remember to treat each other with kindness, love and respect, it is possible to make it work.
