It may not be easy to discern our path forward on this New Moon Solar Eclipse at 23° 08′ Sagittarius on 14 December 2020, 08:17 AM PST. Thanks to Mars in Aries trine the Sagittarius stellium of the Sun, Moon and Mercury, all the energy and drive is focused on making things happen,. The catch is Mercury in Sagittarius is also squaring Neptune in Pisces, throwing up a serious amount of misinformation and general confusion. Some may be completely convinced they are right, based more on denial and wishful thinking than actual facts. Others will simply feel lost in the fog.
Is there a way out of the confusion? Yes, and it has to do with Sagittarius’s ruler, Jupiter. Jupiter is currently conjoining Saturn at the end of Capricorn and is sextile Venus in Scorpio. As it always has been with the Scorpio-Capricorn combination, looking at what’s happening through their sensible, pragmatic lens can show us the best way to handle whatever mess we’ve landed in. Their suggestions may be somewhat boring and not nearly as much fun but we’ll get where we need to be in one piece. This is a case of “if it sounds too good to be true, it is”. As much as we’re drawn to the flashy, quick solution, the reality is the only thing that is likely to work as promised is the boring, old step by step approach beloved of Saturn. So it is “suck it up, prepare for delayed gratification and pay attention to our intuition” time. You will thank me later . . . 🙂
By the way, Venus in Scorpio also conjoins Juno. Juno in Scorpio is a wise, powerful feminine figure who can get her point across with few words and a stern look. In other words, you married folk out there need to listen closely to what your wife is telling you. Because she/he is probably right. OK?!
On December 23, Mars in Aries will make its final square to Pluto in Capricorn and that waxing square is active on the New Moon. This aspect first occurred in mid-August and again in October when Mars was retrograde. Now Mars in Aries is direct as is Pluto in Capricorn. The energy is less muddled which makes it possible to understand what’s happening and, if possible, avoid raining too much destruction down around us. Mars in Aries is unusually clear about how to reach our chosen destination and what needs to be done to get there. Working with Pluto in Capricorn is much trickier. Rather like using a dragon to light a campfire. Be careful when choosing what to leave behind or throw away because it is far too easy with Pluto involved to leave nothing but ashes behind us.
One small favor is Uranus in Taurus is off doing its own thing at this time. Don’t worry, Uranus in Taurus will be a major influence next year, so a small break now is quite nice.
The urge to tilt at windmills a la Don Quixote is bound to be strong on the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius. Sagittarius does love a good cause after all. However most of us will be better off taking a long step back and give the dust a chance to settle before deciding where we want to go next. With a major shift in the heavens coming up only a few days after this lunation, more will come clear. The Solstice is just around the corner and has Mercury conjoining the Sun at 0° Capricorn, semi-sextile Jupiter and Saturn at 0° Aquarius. Why miss out on a wonderful opportunity by committing to what is passing away. Patience, my dears, patience. Peace and love to all.
