This Full Moon is special in several ways. For starters, it is the second Full Moon in Aquarius this Leo season, it is a “Blue Moon” or the second Full Moon in a calendar month and finally it is the most peaceful lunation we’ve had in quite some time. So please enjoy this Full Moon at 29° 37′ Aquarius!
The Leo Sun and Aquarius Moon only have one planet aspecting them, Jupiter in Aquarius. It conjoins the Moon and opposes the Sun. This ought to give this Full Moon an expansive energy. A word of caution . . . make an effort to see the bright side because Jupiter does not tend to discriminate between happy and sad. If we’re feeling down, it can make us feel worse instead of better. Because the luminaries have reached 29°, the anaretic degree, it is likely some phase in our lives related to the houses the Leo-Aquarius axis falls in will be wrapping up.
Both planets associated with Aquarius, Saturn and Uranus, are well-aspected on this lunation. Saturn in Aquarius is trine Venus in Libra and Uranus in Taurus is trine Mars in Virgo.
The Venus-Saturn aspect is about as good as Venus-Saturn aspects get. Venus is in her home sign and Saturn is exalted in equitable Libra as well as being quite comfortable in Aquarius. This is a very civilized influence and great for committing to a relationship that is long on compromise and fairness between partners. By the way, this applies to business partnerships as well as personal relationships.
The Mars in Virgo trine to Uranus in Taurus is also excellent. It combines earthy practicality with innovative workarounds. The risk element associated with Mars-Uranus aspects is moderated to a large degree. Instead of tripping and landing wrong, we should be able to successfully avoid bad falls. For those folks who are sensitive to Uranus’s electric energy, even this trine can leave them feeling twitchy.
The only potentially troublesome aspect is a waxing opposition between Mercury in Virgo and Neptune in Pisces (exact on August 24). In this case, the struggle between those in deep denial about factual information is on its way to peaking. Keep in mind, the truth has a way of coming out, sooner or later, and with Neptune involved the resulting disillusion can be deep.
There is little tension generated on this Full Moon in Aquarius, a nice change from recent lunations. For better or worse, Jupiter conjoining the Aquarius Moon does suggest our attention will be drawn to the big issues affecting the collective we live in. Though it may be less a call to arms and more of an acknowledgment problems exist. Many of us are worn down and need to give ourselves permission to unwind and rest up. The issues needing our attention will still be there but if we’re sufficiently rested, it will make resolving them much more doable. As always, be kind, tolerant and practice patience every day. Peace and love to all.
