Full Moon in Pisces, September 20, 2021

The New Moon in Virgo was trine Uranus in Taurus, and this Full Moon at 28° 14’ Pisces on 20 September 2021 at 04:55 PM PDT features flowing aspects to Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn. These are gentle lessons since the outer planets make harmonious aspects to the luminaries, guiding us with nudges rather than hitting us over the head to get our attention. Not only that earth and water signs are not nearly as extroverted as fire and air and don’t express their disapproval as loudly. We will need to listen closely to our intuitive side to make the most of these influences. Lessons in practical applications of compassion can be life changing.

On the not so subtle side of things is Mercury in Libra. It is caught between a rock and a hard place, much like Venus in Libra on the New Moon in Virgo. Mercury is square to Pluto in Capricorn, trine Jupiter in Aquarius and inconjunct Neptune in Pisces. What we may end up with is the challenge of speaking truth to those in power (Pluto in Capricorn). . . and not being believed. There is a strong Cassandra vibe going on here. The Mercury-Jupiter trine in air is clear sighted, interested in being fair to all parties and detached enough to see the bigger picture. However, Neptune in Pisces is excellent at promoting denial and general fogginess. We keep stumbling over the whole “who to trust issue” again and again. This will not be the last time this concerns are raised because the Libra Sun and Mars in Libra will make the same aspects in October. In fact, when Mercury in Libra goes retrograde on September 26 at 25° Libra, it will be square to Pluto in Capricorn and trine Jupiter in Aquarius, and then come back again in early November to repeat the process. Yup, lots of time to think and re-think about the whole situation. We might as well be patient, dig deep for the truth and then stand by it.

Mars reached Libra about a week before this Full Moon and it is making a waxing trine to Saturn in Aquarius. Mars struggles in Libra, a sign often given to indecisiveness as it seeks to balance conflicting elements. Saturn offers stability as well as guidance in the form always choosing the responsible course of action.

Venus in Scorpio is not so fortunate. She makes a waning square to Saturn in Aquarius and a waxing opposition to Uranus in Taurus. Pulled between the need to conform and the desire to rebel is so not fun for Venus. This does not bode well for those whose relationships are struggling. Fixed signs tend to cling more fiercely when they feel threatened, and in this instance it may work better to step back and give each other space to cool down.

We can enjoy a wonderful Full Moon in Pisces if we choose to be open to practicing kindness, tolerance and compassion. We’ll need to fine tune our emotional intelligence as well as recognizing clarity comes from within. Pisces Full Moons are always a wonderful time to retreat from the noise and confusion of the World at large. Put down the phones, turn off the news and enjoy some peace and quiet. Solitude can be very healing. Peace and love to all.
