This particular New Moon at 12° 40’ Scorpio on 4 November 2021, 02:15 PM PDT, is going to get our attention, in part because Uranus in Taurus opposes the Sun and Moon in Scorpio! It also marks the resurgence of water and earth signs after several months where air dominated the sky.
If we know where transiting Uranus in Taurus falls in our natal chart, we should already have some idea about the effect it’s having in our lives. The opposition between Uranus and the Scorpio luminaries will intensify those effects. Often Uranus transits are a process of learning to handle uncertainty brought about by changes taking place within us, or by external events, people, etc. Scorpio is noted for a willingness to make the tough calls about what is essential to our health and well being, and what needs to be excised.
Now that Mars is in Scorpio, it is more powerful than ever. Mars is well placed in tenacious Scorpio and is considered to be a ruler of Scorpio. At this time Mars is making a waxing square to Saturn in Aquarius (exact on November 10). Mars-Saturn aspects can be very frustrating but in this case, if we’re willing to slow way down we can access the immense power of this fixed square. Attempting to go too fast will likely result in running into a brick wall . . . repeatedly. Those folks who have either Mars in Scorpio or Mars in Capricorn natally will understand how to use this energy better than those with Mars in the fire and air signs.
Much like the last rose of summer, the sextile between Mercury at 28° Libra and Venus at 29° Sagittarius is sweet indeed. Enjoy the lively blend of convivial fire and charming air while it is here. On Friday both planets make the shift into the next sign. Mercury will go into Scorpio and Venus into Capricorn. Once there they will be exactly sextile on Saturday. We are being blessed with an easy introduction to the next phase where earth and water dominate.
Jupiter in Aquarius is suspended in between Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Capricorn, connected by semi-sextiles to both planets. It may feel like Jupiter in Aquarius’s progressive ideas are being stifled by Pluto’s controlling tendencies and Neptune’s lack of direction. This stalemate will gradually dissolve over the next month as Jupiter pulls ahead, seeking to return to Pisces around the end of the year.
One thing we can do on this powerful New Moon in Scorpio is some serious editing in our lives. The emphasis on fixed signs suggests we need to work on consolidating any gains made recently, and to do that effectively we need to ruthlessly cut out all the deadwood and clutter. That way we can emerge from our New Moon cocoons clean, clear and ready to take the next step on our life paths. It won’t be easy to work around the edginess and tension created by Uranus opposing the luminaries, so please allow extra time for nerves to steady. Besides that, New Moons usually are better for contemplation than taking immediate action. Slow and steady is best. Please remember to be kind, tolerant and patient, not only with others but with ourselves as well. Peace and Love to all.
