Full Moon in Aquarius, August 11, 2022

Given Aquarius’s reputation for being quirky, it is not too surprising this Full Moon at 19° 21’ Aquarius on 11 August 2022, 06:36 PM PDT is exactly that. This time the Aquarius Moon is conjoining Saturn and is part of a fixed T-square with the Leo Sun and Uranus in Taurus. Uranus still conjoins the North Node in Taurus, something that is potentially positive though we could be uncomfortable initially. Aquarius is a firm believer in stirring the pot in order to make people think about what’s going on around them. This Full Moon could kick us out of our little comfort zone, at least for awhile.

The tight fixed T-square with the Aquarius Moon conjoining Saturn opposing the Leo Sun with both square Uranus in Taurus conjoining the North Node in Taurus is less combative than one would think. There are several factors contributing a sense of ease. Saturn and Uranus are both considered rulers of Aquarius, creating an affinity between the Moon-Saturn conjunction and Uranus in Taurus. Having Uranus conjoining the North Node is good for positive outcomes of the changes generated at this time. It is the Leo Sun that may add more tension to the mix, making it important to stay centered in our hearts. Leo’s best things are its warmth, generosity of spirit and willingness to be playful, something we can never have too much of. In other words, after some jostling about we’ll likely end up in a better place. Though it may take some time to work through because Saturn never hurries, especially in fixed Aquarius.

One of the most aspected planets in this Full Moon chart is Mars in Taurus. Mars makes a waning square to Saturn in Aquarius, a waxing trine to Pluto in Capricorn and is just past exactly sextile to Neptune in Pisces. Mars in Taurus is very well suited to work with these energies, even the square to Saturn in Aquarius. Patience and tenacity are Mars in Taurus’s strong points. It is willing to work slowly and steadily towards its goals. And this is what we need to do too. Pluto in Capricorn is the ultimate power source, Neptune in Pisces provides spiritual guidance with an emphasis on tolerance and compassion while Saturn in far sighted Aquarius shows us the way. There is no getting around it, hard work and steadfast commitment are required. Cheating in any way opens us up to instant karma which tends to be unpleasant.

One of the quirks of this lunation is having three planets unaspected, two of which are fast moving personal planets. Mercury in Virgo, Venus in Leo and Jupiter in Aries are all unaspected. This gives Mercury in Virgo an opportunity to focus on its priorities, such as happily double checking information in order to make revisions/corrections, backing up data whenever necessary and generally tidying up all types of paperwork. Venus is at 0° Leo, ready to shine and spread the love. While Jupiter in Aries may not be happy on the sidelines, not having its heavy foot on one side of scales allows for more clarity in evaluating what’s going on in our lives.

In many ways, this is a quintessentially Aquarius Full Moon. We are challenged to be our most authentic, creative selves (Leo Sun) while learning about how we can contribute in a meaningful way as unique individuals (Aquarius Moon). There is clarity to be found in squares because they highlight the differences between the signs/planets involved. If we feel like we’re not getting anywhere, it might be best to experiment with something completely outside our usual venue (Uranus in Taurus). Unique and unusual solutions are out there if we set aside our fears and reach out to explore those. Be brave and let your inner light shine forth. Peace and love to all.
