We finally have a New Moon that provides us with a true starting point, and this New Moon at 20° 44’ Capricorn on 11 January 2024 at 03:57 AM PST with the luminaries trine innovative Uranus in Taurus is potentially brilliant. The energy we need to pursue our goals is provided by a small triangle with Mars in Capricorn, Jupiter in Taurus and Saturn in Pisces. All together this looks like a very promising New Moon.
It’s been a while since Uranus in Taurus has been a source of inspiration rather irritation due to its forcibly pushing changes on us, like it or not. The trine to the Sun and Moon in pragmatic, well organized Capricorn can help us make the necessary breakthroughs we need so we can progress. Those may not resemble our expectations of what we thought is needed but they will get the job done! One thing about trines is we’ll need to make an effort to pursue information related those changes because trines do not demand attention like squares do.
The small triangle with Mars in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Taurus as the base with both planets sextile Saturn in Pisces is a true blessing. Jupiter and Saturn working together is always a winner, combining Jupiter’s enthusiasm with Saturn’s ability to build a solid foundation. Mars in Capricorn provides the power to set things in motion, and in addition can help us see projects through to completion, due in large part to the sextile between Mars and Saturn.
Thankfully Mercury in Sagittarius is pulling away from the debilitating square to Neptune in Pisces. And once Mercury reaches Capricorn on January 13, it should give us even more resources to draw on. It is important to choose simple, workable plans based on real time information. Having all the information in place regarding things like reliable funding, good help and the necessary know how are part of this process.
Mercury and Venus in Sagittarius also make minor aspects to a couple of outer planets. Mercury is semi-sextile Pluto in Capricorn and Venus is inconjunct Uranus in Taurus. All the same things apply here as in the above paragraph. Practical concerns will outweigh brilliant theories at this time, though the Sagittarius planets will certainly add good input.
Since this is the first New Moon of 2024, it does feel like the new year really begins at this time. It is clear earth completely dominates this New Moon in Capricorn chart with six planets in earth, two in water, two in fire and none in air. Following earth sign rules is more likely to produce good results too. Go with the most pragmatic option if at all possible. Another important factor is not getting in too big a hurry. It is choosing to proceed at a slow, steady pace that will get us where we would like to be. Delayed gratification is the ticket now, so we might as well get used it.
