Full Moon in Leo, January 25, 2024

What looks to have the greatest impact on this Full Moon at 05° 15’ Leo on 25 January 2024, 09:55 AM PST, is a fixed T-square with the Aquarius Sun-Pluto in Aquarius opposing the Leo Moon and both square Jupiter in Taurus. We’re getting an introduction into what it means to have Pluto in fixed Aquarius instead of cardinal Capricorn. Resolving differences may be much more difficult but it should be easier to pinpoint the underlying reasons we’re experiencing problems. Fixed signs are in charge of consolidating gains, and don’t like having to make adjustments that might take away from those. In this instance, having Pluto conjoining the Aquarius Sun increases tensions, making it even harder to reach any type of compromise.

Usually a Leo Full Moon highlights Leo’s creativity and vitality, even with austere, detached Aquarius for an audience. What Pluto in Aquarius conjoining the Aquarius Sun may do is introduce an element of obsession with the belief Aquarius has the best solutions for solving humanity’s problems. And Aquarius has no interest in supporting Leo’s love of being the center of attention either. Then we have Jupiter in Taurus adding its bit by insisting the best answer is to stick with the status quo. In other words, stay in our comfort zone, no matter how painful those actually are. Those folks who have personal planets and/or Ascendant from 0° to 5° in Scorpio which completes a Grand Cross with the other planets in the fixed T-square are most likely to feel blocked at this time.

The most interesting part of this Full Moon in Leo is all the harmonious aspects between the planets in earth and water signs. Jupiter in Taurus makes a waxing trine to Venus in Capricorn (exact on January 28) as well as a sextile to Saturn in Pisces. This is a variation on the small triangle in the New Moon in Capricorn chart where Mars in Capricorn aspected Jupiter and Saturn. This peaceful, centered energy is a great antidote to the tensions created by the fixed T-square. If we choose to use good manners, be kind and thoughtful while following through with our responsibilities, we may be able to find workarounds to accomplish our tasks.

Another helpful aspect is Mercury conjunct Mars in Capricorn (exact on January 27) trine Uranus in Taurus. It can cut through any red tape in order to get to the heart of the matter. This is great energy for recognizing divisive issues and figuring out how to defuse those. In addition, any solutions are bound to be simple, pragmatic and effective. We ought to gain even greater momentum once Uranus stations direct on January 26/27.

Another positive factor is Neptune in Pisces is unaspected on this lunation. We won’t be fighting the confusion and misdirection of previous lunations at this time. Nice!

If there ever was a time to agree to disagree and move on with our lives, this Full Moon in Leo is it. Step aside from the drama and focus more on the practicalities. Earth and water are still the dominant elements with only two planets in air and one in fire, and that suggests we still have plenty of options for pursuing our goals. Besides, there are lots of people out there whose natal charts aren’t particularly impacted by the Full Moon T-square who may have a wonderful time celebrating the Leo Full Moon’s love of a good time. So for now, choose to be peaceful, kind and tolerant of our differences. Peace and love to all.
